Exhibit Title: Images, Then Words, 2025
Poets, writers and spoken word artists respond to images in the exhibition.
Exhibition Dates: Thursday, January 9 - Friday, February 14
Works will be curated and displayed both physically at the Menino Arts Center and online in a virtual 3D gallery where you can enter, stroll, and view at your own pace.
Artists Reception: Saturday, January 25, 3:30-5pm
Acceptance Notification: Wednesday, Dec. 4 by email and posted on the HPAA website at http://www.hpaa-mac.org/exhibits/.
Written Word Procedure:
Writers will choose an image to write about.
On Wednesday, Dec 4, all writers that have signed up on this jotform will be sent an email with a link to all the images/jpgs juried into this exhibition and posted online in our Virtual 3D Gallery.
Writers will make a selection of the image that inspires them to write. (This will be in a form on a first-come, first-served basis)
The availability of the artworks selected: Wed, December 4, after 5pm on
the 3D Virtual Gallery.
Writers will have from Dec 4 - Jan 4, to send in the written work.
Written Word Requirements:
Writers will send their work as a Word Doc or PDF, no longer than 1 page, 12pt type
Writers will have the option of also sending their work as an audio voice recording, (Voice Memo) which we will embed in a QR code. Cell phone video recordings are suitable and can be converted by the curator. (only the audio will be used so you can black out/block your screen). Be sure to leave your microphone un-obstructed)
The document and the QR code will hang next to the artwork you have chosen, so your words can be read and/or heard.
All Entries including Audio files must be labeled:
Your First and Last Name -The Title of Your Work

Visual Artwork Size Requirements:
Wall hanging: no larger than 60" height x 48" width x 8" depth
3D works: a small number (due to space limitations) of 3-D works (with artists-supplied pedestals) may be accepted
No artwork, nor written work (real or virtual) may be removed before the close of the exhibition.
Publicity: By entering this exhibition, the artist gives consent that the submitted images/works can be used by the Menino Arts Center for reproduction in print and on social media, for publicity and educational purposes, with artist credit given.
