This one-day course is designed for physicians (MD/DOs) who have a basic understanding of orthobiologics and injection techniques for the thoracic and lumbar spine – and have a desire to progress their knowledge and skills utilizing ultrasound and fluoroscopy for orthobiologic injection techniques.

HERE IS WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
Prerequisites: Attendee must be an MD/DO using ultrasound in current practice. This course is designed for individuals who want to advance skills and is not for beginners. If necessary, IOF can refer you to basic ultrasound courses to get the necessary training prior to attending this course. This course is pass/fail, and individuals not yet proficient in diagnostic ultrasound will be asked to re-take the course at his/her expense. By registering for this course, you attest to meeting these prerequisites.
This diagnostic ultrasound and hands-on image guided spinal injection skills course will provide a comprehensive review of anatomy, pathology, and pathophysiology of injury and degeneration. The course will start with a diagnostic ultrasound scanning session on a live model. The interventional techniques presented in the pre-course didactic videos will be practiced under the direct supervision of the instructor(s) in order to enable participants to become proficient with these skills.
IOF INTERMEDIATE SPINE CURRICULUM
- Ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided facet joints
- Ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided SI joints and dorsal SI joint ligaments
- Ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided caudal epidural
- Fluoroscopic guided lumbar ligaments (iliolumbar ligaments / supraspinous and interspinous ligaments)
- Ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided multifidus
You will also receive procedure-specific instructional videos that you can access for 30 days after the course. IOF members can access the videos for the lifetime of their membership, allowing you to review the instructional videos prior to treating a patient.
