A student shall not be required to comply with the provisions of subsection A of this
section if:
- The student’s parent or legal guardian submits a signed form authorizing the
student to opt out of the requirement of subsection A of this section;
- A student age eighteen (18) or older submits a signed form authorizing him or her to opt out of the requirement of subsection A of this section; or
- A school counselor authorizes a student to opt out of the FAFSA graduation
requirement
What is the FAFSA?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an online form that state
and private institutions, career technology centers, and some proprietary schools
use to determine a student's financial aid eligibility. This will include federal and
state programs such as grants, work-study funds, scholarships, and federal
student loans. Visit FAFSA.gov to complete the FAFSA and learn more about
the financial aid process at StudentAid.gov.
