• North County Christian School - Parental Agreement

  • North County Christian School (NCCS) requires both parents (when applicable) to understand, agree to, and fulfill the following responsibilities as they provide a home-based education for their student. Please read this agreement carefully.

    • We will maintain an active membership with the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) for each year our family is enrolled with NCCS.
    • We will provide curriculum that complies with applicable state requirements for required subjects.
    • We understand the importance of maintaining accurate records and will save monthly samples of our student's coursework for each subject.
    • We understand that we are responsible for providing curriculum, planning lessons, maintaining coursework samples, evaluating our student's progress, and making all decisions regarding educational philosophy, teaching methods, instructional materials, curriculum, grading, and evaluations. We acknowledge that the quality and success of our student's education depend primarily on our commitment and our student's efforts.
    • We understand one parent will be available to provide instruction during school hours and will teach our student in an organized and consistent manner for at least 180 instructional days each school year.
    • We will submit attendance and grades according to the deadlines published on the school calendar. We understand that timely reporting is essential to the success of an independent study program.
    • At the beginning of each school year, we will post our elementary student's proposed course of study, or our high school student's course descriptions on our student's page.
    • We understand that the NCCS School Calendar, Parent Handbook, and High School Manual contain important policies, deadlines, and procedures. We agree to read these documents, review the school calendar regularly, and become familiar with the services provided by NCCS and our responsibilities as a homeschooling family.
    • As a courtesy, we will notify NCCS if our student enrolls in another school.
    • We understand that our student's enrollment may be terminated if:
      • We fail to maintain required records as outlined in the NCCS Handbook.
      • We fail to comply with any provision of this Parent Responsibility Agreement.
    • We recognize that parents have the primary responsibility for directing their student's education. We also understand that NCCS has established policies that may differ from some families' educational approaches. These policies are intended to support the mission and integrity of North County Christian School. NCCS will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual educational philosophies and goals whenever possible, provided they remain consistent with school policies.
