2025 Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship

Elizabeth Sophia Gullborg Stefan, lovingly known as "Lisi," was a radiant and compassionate individual whose zest for life and warmth left a lasting mark on everyone she met. A talented model and passionate traveler, Lisi explored the world but cherished the time spent at home with her family and friends most deeply. Her vibrant energy and caring nature continue to inspire those who knew her.

In honor of Lisi’s legacy, a memorial scholarship has been established to support young leaders pursuing careers in the health field—individuals committed to making a meaningful difference in the world, just as Lisi did in her unique way. 

For her parents, William and Eva Stefan, long-time supporters of Leadership Initiatives, this scholarship is a way to celebrate Lisi’s life while fostering the potential of the next generation. Through their involvement with the program, they witness the same passion and dedication in these aspiring leaders that Lisi exemplified. By equipping these students with opportunities to make an impact in healthcare, the scholarship ensures that Lisi’s legacy of care, connection, and compassion continues to touch lives and create a healthier, brighter world.

Scholarship Purpose:

The Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship honors Elizabeth’s dedication to advancing health and wellness. It supports individuals passionate about improving health outcomes through innovation, compassion, and community engagement. Recipients gain opportunities to pursue education in health-related fields, developing the skills needed to create meaningful change and enhance society’s well-being. This scholarship inspires future health leaders to make a lasting positive impact in their communities.

Eligibility:

The 2025 Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship is open to top students who are interested in pursuing a career in business. One annual scholarship recipient will be chosen based on academic and personal merit.

Deadline:
2025 Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship applications must be received no later than January 25th, 2025.

Scholarship Awards:
The Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship will award one full scholarship and ten partial scholarships to attend the Advanced Medical & Public Health Internship for one of the following sessions:

• June 29th - July 5th, 2025
• July 6th - July 12th, 2025
• July 13th - July 19th, 2025
• July 20th - July 26th, 2025
• July 27th - August 2, 2025

The 2025 Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship will also award ten partial scholarships.

Your personal statement should be approximately one to two pages detailing:

1. Your academic interests

2. Your future education plans

3. How your future aspirations align with the advancement of public health and medicine.

I understand that the 2025 Elizabeth Stefan Health Innovation Memorial Scholarship can only be used to attend the Leadership Initiatives Advanced Medical & Public Health Internship from June 29th - July 5th, 2025, July 6th - July 12th, 2025, July 13th - July 19th, 2025, July 20th - July 26th, 2025, or July 27th - August 2, 2025. This scholarship cannot be transferred to any other program or institution or be requested as a payment.  

All applications received after the deadline of January 25th, 2025, will not be considered to receive this scholarship. Decisions will be made by the Leadership Initiatives Scholarship Committee and will be announced at a later date.
