Join the NEW MAEOE Green Ambassador Program!
The MAEOE Green Leaders Program is now the MAEOE Green Ambassadors Program!
The MAEOE Green Ambassadors Program is a volunteer initiative designed for individuals who support the Green Schools application process.
Please note: MAEOE Green Ambassadors are NOT individuals who work at a Green Center or educators leading Green Teams in their schools.
Why the Change?
We have found that the title and role of Green Leader has been a source of confusion for teachers and staff already associated with a Green School or Green Center.
We are redefining the role of the MAEOE Green Ambassadors as a distinct volunteer program, with a new structure that will allow us to build a cohort of trained individuals who are dedicated to providing direct support to schools.
By enhancing our support for the Green Schools program, we aim to offer more effective assistance and resources to schools during the Green School application process.
Responsibilities of MAEOE Green Ambassadors:
- Complete official MAEOE Green Ambassador Training
- Deliver a presentation to at least one new or renewing school (resources provided by MAEOE, customizable with approval).
- Collaborate with at least one school to ensure they submit a Green School application by May 2025 for renewals or by May 2026 for new applications.
- Attend one MAEOE progress update meeting during the school year.
- Attend reviewer training and review at least five applications.
- Participate in the Youth Summit as a volunteer.
- Track volunteer hours consistently using a Google Form.
