Purpose
The Ella C. White Memorial Scholarship Fund is committed to providing scholarships to graduating seniors at Bluffton, Hilton Head, and May River High Schools. The Scholarship Fund was established in 1972 as a tribute to the late Ella C. White, a dynamic educator who taught in the Beaufort County Public School District. At the time of her death, she was a teacher at the former H.E McCracken Jr./Sr. High School in Bluffton. Because of her dedication to students, the scholarship was organized to assist students from the area graduating from H. E. McCracken High. The goal of the Scholarship Fund is to help students attain an education at the nation’s institutions of higher learning during their freshmen and sophomore years if funds are available. It is our hope that each recipient earns a college education, builds a bright future and contributes to their professions and communities. For more information, call Lucille Kannick, chairwoman of the scholarship committee, at 843-816-7778.
