      • View the sample registration form as you fill yours out.
      • Register or change your registration address using the same online form.
      • You can register with either the last 4 digits of your social security number or a NY driver’s license or DMV ID number.
      • If you live in a dorm, use your room/apartment/suite number and the name of their residence hall as the “address where you live.”
      • Leave mailing address blank as it is same as dorm address

    • CONFIRM POLLING LOCATIONS AND HOURS
      • You do not need to bring any Voter ID when you vote in New York State unless you registered without a social security or DMV number.
      • The Early Voting location is likely different from your Election Day polling location for Tuesday Nov 5, 2024. Choose the option that is most convenient to you.
      • Vote Early in the Day. If you are in line when the polls close, stay in line. Anyone in line must be allowed to vote by law.

      • You have the right to vote from study abroad or out of state location in every election.

      • Active-duty military and military families stationed anywhere in the US or abroad should visit FVAP.GOV to get your military ballot.
    • We do not recommend absentee or voting by mail-in ballot in New York when Early Voting or Election Day voting at the polls is a possibility. Absentee and mail ballots have very specific instructions and can be “spoiled” if not filled out correctly.

      • "Early Mail Ballots" are available to any voters. Absentee ballots are only available if the voter is or will be away from the county on Election Day or unable to vote at the polls for a list of specific reasons.
      • Be sure you fill out the inner envelope EXACTLY correctly.
      • Remember to sign and date the inner security envelope.
      • Return a mail or absentee ballot no later than Tues Nov 5, 2024 (postmarked). The ballot must be received no later than Nov 12, 2024 to count.
      • Mail ballots may also be dropped off at a County Board of Elections office, at an Early Voting polling location or at an Election Day polling location.
