Maternal Minds is dedicated to creating culturally anchored mental health programs for Muslim mothers and families. Our focus is on understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by our community to promote well-being and resilience.
Position Summary
Maternal Minds is seeking a Research Assistant for a capacity-building project aimed at enhancing the organization's ability to create impactful programs. This role will involve conducting focus groups, community surveys, and one-on-one interviews to gather input from Muslim mothers. It will also require managing consent forms and conducting a thorough needs assessment to analyze current program gaps and desired outcomes. The data collected will inform the design of new programs tailored to the community's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct focus group surveys with Muslim mothers to gather input on program development.
- Design and distribute consent forms, ensuring compliance with ethical research standards.
- Participate in a needs assessment to analyze current program offerings, identify gaps, and understand desired outcomes.
- Develop and refine survey questions that address the unique needs of the community.
- Analyze data from surveys and focus groups, identifying key themes and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the team to design and propose new programs based on research findings.
- Assist in creating detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Experience conducting qualitative research, particularly with focus groups and surveys.
- Strong understanding of research ethics and consent procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in working with diverse cultural groups.
- Familiarity with the challenges and needs of Muslim mothers is an asset.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
