This form is used for notice of candidacy. Please complete and submit the NCAE/NEA nomination for state officers, regional directors, and state-alloted delegates, Categories 1 & 2. Only individuals who are submitting nominations for state officer and regional director positions must submit a biographical form. Each candidate running for office must have an active membership.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT THIS FORM: Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Please Note: Regional directors cannot come from the same county within a region.
When an election for a regional director takes place simultaneously with an election to fill an unexpired term in the same region, the candidate who receives the most votes will serve in the longest term and the candidate who receives the second most votes will serve in the shorter term, provided they are from a different local association than the first winner. If the candidate with the second highest numbers of votes is from the same local association as the first, the candidate with the next highest vote count from a different local will win the shorter term.

NCAE President: 3-year term
NCAE Vice President: 3-year term
NEA Director: 3-year term
Region 1B Director: 3-year term
Region 2 Director- (1): 1-year term (Forsyth ineligible)
Region 3 Director- (1): 3-year term (Gaston ineligible)
Region 4 Director- (1): 3-year term (Guilford ineligible)
Region 5 Director- (1): 3-year term (Wake ineligible)
Region 6 Director- (1): 3-year term (Sampson ineligible)
NEA State-alloted delegate- Category 1- non-supervisory personnel (teachers, classified staff, etc.) (approximately 19 delegates will be funded) (teacher, classified staff, etc.)
NEA State-alloted delegate- Category 2- supervisory personnel (principals, assistant principals, etc.) (approximately 1 delegate will be funded)
Biographies and photographs of all candidates for state officers and regional directors will be published on the NCAE website. Submit this form and biographical form via Jotform or send by certified mail to Malika Butler, 3700 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 510, Raleigh, NC, 27612 postmarked no later than Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The deadline to withdraw a nomination is Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The withdrawal statement must be in writing and submitted to ncaeelections@ncae.org.
