Gulfport Sportsplex Liability Waiver, Health Guidelines, and Sportsmanship Agreement

Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to participate in tournaments at the Gulfport Sportsplex. I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree to the following terms:

I understand that participation in baseball activities involves inherent risks of injury, including, but not limited to, sprains, strains, fractures, concussions, and even death, due to the nature of the sport, player conduct, equipment, field conditions, and other factors.

I hereby voluntarily agree to assume all risks of injury or harm to my child or myself arising from participation in the tournament and I release and hold harmless the Gulfport Sportsplex, its employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates from all claims, demands, damages, and causes of action arising from any injury or harm, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, during my participation in this event.

I further acknowledge that I am fully responsible for any medical expenses, property loss, or damages sustained by me or my child in connection with participation in this event.

I agree to abide by all tournament rules and regulations and understand that any violation of these rules may result in my child or myself being removed from the tournament without refund or compensation.

I hereby give permission for the use of my child’s or my own photographs, videos, and likeness in promotional materials, social media, or other media outlets without compensation.

Health Guidelines
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, staff, and spectators, we ask that all attendees adhere to the following health guidelines throughout the tournament:

COVID-19 Precautions:

1. If you or your child exhibit any symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or difficulty breathing, we ask that you refrain from attending the event.
2. Follow any state or local COVID-19 guidelines regarding masks and social distancing (if applicable).

Hydration and Heat Safety:

1. Ensure that all players and attendees remain properly hydrated throughout the tournament.
2. Drink plenty of water, and take frequent breaks to prevent heat exhaustion or dehydration.
3. Sunscreen is encouraged for outdoor play.

Injury Prevention:

1. Coaches and team managers should ensure all players wear proper protective gear, including helmets, cleats, and pads, as required by tournament rules.
2. All injuries must be reported to event staff immediately to ensure proper care.
3. A medical professional or first-aid station will be on site for any minor injuries.

General Hygiene:

1. Wash or sanitize hands frequently, especially before eating or after using restroom facilities.
2. Dispose of any trash or food waste in the provided bins to maintain cleanliness.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in removal from the tournament to protect the safety of others. Let’s work together to ensure a healthy and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Sportsmanship Agreement
At the Gulfport Sportsplex, we are committed to fostering an environment of fairness, respect, and good sportsmanship. As a participant in the Monster Mash Baseball Bash, I agree to the following:

Respect for Players, Coaches, and Officials:

• I will show respect to all players, coaches, and officials at all times, regardless of the outcome of the game.
• I understand that officials’ decisions are final and that arguing with or disrespecting officials may result in penalties for my team.

Positive Encouragement:

• I will encourage my teammates with positive and constructive feedback, even in challenging moments.
• As a parent or guardian, I will support all players and refrain from negative comments or behavior during games.

No Tolerance for Aggressive Behavior:

• Physical or verbal aggression, including fighting, inappropriate language, or intimidation, will not be tolerated.
• Any such behavior will result in immediate removal from the event, disqualification from the tournament, or other disciplinary actions.

Promoting Teamwork and Integrity:

• I will play fairly and honestly, always prioritizing teamwork over individual performance.
• Cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.=

Respect for Property and Venue:

• I will respect the Gulfport Sportsplex property and the tournament facilities by cleaning up after myself and following all rules.
• Vandalism or damage to the venue will result in removal from the event and potential legal consequences.

Consequences for Violations:
Failure to adhere to this Sportsmanship Agreement may result in immediate ejection from the game or tournament, without refund, and may affect future participation in events hosted at the Gulfport Sportsplex.
