Thank you for your interest in joining Living Lands & Waters in our newest Floating Classroom - the Mississippi River Institute (MRI)! Please enter your information below to register for an upcoming Memphis Workforce Development Workshop. You will receive a confirmation email from Rachel after submission. Before you sign up for the workshop, please review the following:
- This is a Workforce Development Workshop, promoting different river related careers (barge industry, conservation and more)
- Because the workshop is held on a barge, the barge is not ADA accessible.
- All participants (students and adults) will need to complete a waiver prior to your workshop date. Students will need parent/guardian signature.
- Once you sign up for a date that is convenient for your schedule, Rachel will send you a confirmation email, including details on parking, pre-workshop material, and Guest Speaker selections. Please be active in communication leading up to your workshop date for a successful experience!
- The river is ultimately the boss! Weather is a large factor in the field trip day. To ensure safety is our #1 focus, please know that workshops may be postponed or cancelled due to flucuating water levels on the river.

9AM: Arrive! Greeted by MRI Coordinator at barge entry way, bathroom, safety review

9:15-10:30AM: Welcome! Living Lands & Waters presentation, barge tour, and introduction of the river related Workforce Development Workshop day, including a Career Video narrated by Mike Rowe

10:30-11:30AM: Guest Speaker #1

11:30-12PM: Lunch (bring your own bagged lunch)

12-1PM: Guest Speaker #2

1-1:45PM: River related activity

1:45-2PM: Workshop debrief and departure
