This award is intended for an individual or organization that has carried out legislative advocacy efforts in the interests of Head Start. Examples of advocacy efforts include BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: educating lawmakers at the local, state, or federal level about Head Start, coordinating advocacy efforts with IHSA (arranging site visits with lawmakers, attending Parent Statehouse Visit, being a member of the Congressional GO Team, etc.), participating in NHSA's advocacy efforts (Capitol Hill visits with congress, etc.), mobilizing Head Start parents to advocate for Head Start, etc.
