A puppy questionnaire must be completed by all potential clients before being approved for our waiting list. Unfortunately, not every client will be approved for our waiting list.

Von Der Quinn Rottweilers does not sell Rottweilers with docked tails. Tail docking for cosmetic reasons after purchase is a violation of our contract.

About the Breeder

We are a retired military family (more than 24 years of service), located just outside Tallahassee, Florida with a passion for one of the most versatile breeds. We are originally from the heart of southeast Louisiana in the Florida Parishes. Collectively, owned, and trained Rottweilers for well over 20 years. We love to responsibly raise and train AKC Rottweilers so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members.

How did we get into breeding?

Although my wife and I are experienced pet owners, we enlisted the assistance of a well respected Rottweiler breeder before having our first litter. We mainly focused on the conformation (showing) for many years prior to deciding to produce a litter of puppies.

We love to responsibly raise and train Rottweilers so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. Our dogs are central to our lives, and we are proud of their accomplishments. We enjoy participating in German Sieger shows along with USCA obedience trials; staying involved in the breed.

What makes our breeding program special?

Von Der Quinn Rottweilers is a small breeding program, so of all our dogs receive one on one socialization. We plan two - four litters per year. Our adult dogs are not daily housed in kennels and must be housebroken as puppies. We encourage all our dogs to exercise throughout our 10 acre area which promotes confidence and an overall healthier Rottweiler. We do not breed to just sell puppies. We breed to keep from our litters to better our kennel. We travel several hours and through many states to perform breedings to the best male Rottweilers throughout the United States. Many cases, the studs used are imported to the U.S. to help improve kennel lines. We have never repeated a breeding to the same stud dog; although we have occasionally used the same male to get the desired characteristics which compliment our females.

Health Testing

To find certified health information on any of sire, dam, or past dogs in the pedigree please conduct a search on Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). If the hip and elbow scores are not listed on OFA, they were completed in Germany with Allgemeiner Deutscher Rottweiler Klub (ADRK). We do not breed a dog unless it has passing scores. We also require the University of California at Davis Genetic Testing Laboratory 5 panel on all dogs used in our breeding program.

Puppies

All our Sires and Dams are shown in Sieger Shows and USCA Obedience trials. OFA certification on all breeding stock has been completed. Puppies come with AKC Registration, puppy deworming, and 1st set of vaccinations. Our litters are named in sequential alphabetical order (A, B, C, D, E, etc) You call your puppy whatever recall name you desire, however; for AKC registration purposes it must follow our kennel naming convention which is Name Von Der Quinn.

We have not produced any litters in 2025. Our scheduled breedings are below.

We plan for 2 litters each year, but may occasionally surge to 4 litters. Because of the limited number of puppies available, a reservation for a particular gender may not occur in a particular breeding if we do not receive an adequate number of a particular gender. Please understand that we do not control this, it is up to mother nature. It is always a possibility you may have to be moved to a subsequent litter. Do you understand this is out of our control?

How much are our puppies? Our puppies are $3500. Our first picks are reserved for our own kennel line advancement. Occasionally they are available. To be on our waiting list we require a $500 deposit and signed contract after approval. Are you okay with this?

Our purpose for breeding is to show/work dogs and keep from our litters which gives us an outlook of our structure and temperaments. Although we breed for temperament, please understand that Rottweilers are a working breed. Puppies may sometimes exhibit characteristics which can sometimes be considered aggressive (play biting, rough playing, etc) by those not familiar with the breed. As an owner it is important that you correct this behavior in a positive manner through focused obedience training. Are you sure you are capable of properly training a Rottweiler?

A correct Rottweiler's size according to the FCI standard male is approximately 50kg or 110lbs and 61 to 68 cm tall. A female is approximately 42kg or 93 lbs/ 56 to 63cm tall. This should be considered in relation to the size and condition of the dog, and these two weights are in relation to the ideal height of both males and females. Large puppies do not necessarily translate into the largest as adults and the same applies to small puppies. The best indicator of size is the pedigree; specifically how the dogs look in the first three generations. The dogs you see when you visit our kennel are a finished product; they have many many hours of socialization, training, and handling. Your puppy will be a blank slate which will require the same focus once you bring it home. The first month the puppy will be learning to be a member of your pack. Puppies/Dogs which leave our care are never allowed to be surrendered to a rescue or shelter at anytime during their life.
