Helping Hands for the Holidays
Carbondale Community Winter Resource Fair
About the Event:
Join us at the Carbondale Civic Center on Thursday, December 5th from 10:00am to 2:00pm for a gathering filled with holiday cheer, community connection, support and services. This FREE event will feature nearly 30 community resource vendors offering valuable information on service opportunities to support regional residents through the holiday season and beyond. All attendees will enjoy holiday beverages and treats while they explore "the gift" of community support and local resources. We hope you and your organization join us for the Helping Hands for the Holidays- Carbondale Community Winter Resource Fair this December. For more information, please contact Dianah McGreehan at dmcgreehan@carbondail.gov
Why it Matters:
During the holiday season, research shows that 70% of low-income families experience increased financial stress and many rely on community services to meet their needs. In fact, demand for food pantry and housing assistance rises by 25% or more during the winter months. Our winter resource fair brings these critical resources together in one place, making it easier for families and residents to find the help they need. Volunteerism also tends to rise in the winter season as well. This is a great opportunity to promote all of the services you provide and to promote the volunteer opportunities your organization offers. Thank you for lending a Helping Hand this holiday season!
