Scottish Renewables is proud to launch our New Voices Campaign, sponsored by Ørsted.
The energy system of the future demands a workforce that reflects where society is going, not where it’s been.
In the past, the energy industry was dominated by a narrow demographic, leaving many voices excluded and unheard.
But renewable energy - an industry built on doing the right thing - represents the future.
Too many people still don’t see themselves represented in renewable energy panels, boardrooms and leadership roles. Too many still feel out of place and hesitant to speak up in meetings, networking events and industry gatherings.
Championing diversity, inclusivity and openness isn't just the right choice - it’s essential.
To overcome the complex challenges ahead, the energy transition needs the fresh ideas, bold innovation and dynamic leadership of a truly inclusive workforce.
Today, the renewables industry proportionally employs nearly twice as many women as traditional energy, and the momentum toward greater inclusion is only accelerating.
At Scottish Renewables we are passionate about driving forward this momentum. That’s why we are launching our New Voices Campaign for a second year – the next big step towards a representative and inclusive renewable energy industry.
Open to anyone who identifies as diverse or comes from an underrepresented background, the New Voices Campaign will take ten participants on a journey to equip them with the skills they need to make their voices heard.
The campaign will include a series of workshops, held over the course of a year, offering an in-depth focus on essential career development skills. It will empower the participants to confidently share their insights and ideas at industry events and beyond, while providing a platform to expand their network, represent their business and serve as ambassadors for the renewable energy sector.
The workshops, held throughout 2025, will provide training on:
- Confidence building
- Public speaking
- Media and public relations
- Expert Q&A sessions.
The campaign will also give participants the opportunity to join Scottish Renewables events as future speakers.
We believe the future of energy needs everyone’s voice.
Nominate yourself or a colleague now to be a part of this transformational campaign. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on November 26.
