About the Georgia TIME Task Force:
The TIME (Traffic Incident Management Enhancement) Task Force is a statewide incident management program committed to facilitating the safest and fastest roadway clearance and lessening the impact on emergency responders and the motoring public. The TIME Task Force is made up of dedicated and concerned incident responders from transportation agencies, fire rescue, police, towing, emergency medical services, and more. 2025 marks the beginning of the new TIME Task Force Committee Chair two-year term. As a result, we are calling for nominations for the three Committee Chair positions listed below.
1. Communications - This committee coordinates timely and open communication both internally between transportation and public safety agencies as well as with the public and media.
2. Programs - This committee focuses on planning and facilitating membership activities and events.
3. Training - This committee focuses on approving, developing, and offering TIM training courses and tracking certification of the TIME Task Force and Towing & Recovery Incentive Program (TRIP) members.
Committee Chair Obligations Include:
1. Participate as a member of the TIME Task Force Board, attending monthly meetings. Each board member must attend at least ten of the twelve meetings and specially called meeting as scheduled.
2. Host monthly committee meetings with assistance from assigned Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) consultant.
3. Deliver brief committee updates at the TTF Board of Director's Meetings.
4. Attend the yearly Board of Directors Strategic Planning Retreat (typically 3-5 hours).
5. Conduct initiatives along with the committee support to further the TIME Task Force goals.
6. Attend optional TIME Task Force-related events such as the Biennial TIME Task Force Conference, Biennial Executive Briefing Breakfast, and quarterly meetings.
7. Be dedicated to scene safety and quick clearance.
8. Commit to a two-year term.
NOTE: Meetings are typically held virtually via Microsoft Teams, though some may be held in person in conjunction with board or other task force events.
Committee chairs elected during this process will begin their two-year term starting February 7, 2025. Committee chairpersons can hold their positions for up to two consecutive terms (four years total) if willing and if re-elected. After two consecutive terms, a committee chairperson must wait one term (two years) before running again.
ELIGIBILITY and CRITERIA:
1. TIME Task Force members may nominate individuals or themselves for a Committee Chair position.
2. Nominees must be or become a member of the TIME Task Force when the term begins.
3. Submit a biographey of 150 words or less as to why nominee is fit for the role.
4. Have experience in the industry discipline.
