  • At the core of our efforts as Vincentians is our growth in holiness and the ways we serve one another as well as our neighbors, yet how do equip ourselves for that journey? The answer lies in taking part in formational opportunities throughout our District Council!

Each year we host a series of workshops on different topics throughout the Cincinnati District, and are always happy to put on specialized offerings for a Conference, Family of Conferences, or even collaborate on how that might look with engaging your Parish Family as well. If you would like to discuss with your support team possible topics and experiences that could work for you and your family, reach out to the Vincentian Services Team with the request form below, or email us directly at Formation@SVDPcincinnati.org.

Please note, formation programming for Cincinnati Council Vincentians is typically provided at no cost as part of your Council's support for you in your vocation, however, programming for the general public may incur a small cost depending on the nature of the experience requested. If you are seeking programming through the Ozanam Center for Service Learning, please contact the Education & Formation team at Ozanam@SVDPcincinnati.org.

  • The Eviction Process Workshop (1 hour facilitated by Olivia Lauer)
As Vincentians, we commonly come in contact with neighbors that have an unpaid back rental balance and are nearing or at some point within the eviction process. But what exactly is the process of eviction and how does it work? We’ll take a deep dive into the ins and outs of this system and what it means for both the landlord and the tenant.

  • Having Conversations with Vulnerable People Workshop (1 hour facilitated by Adriana Howard)

In times of uncertainty, insecurity and rapid change – when people can’t always control what’s happening to them and around them – they can feel overwhelmed and vulnerable. They need support, understanding and empathy to help them consider their options and make decisions that are right for them. This workshop will help you develop the skills and confidence to have supportive and effective conversations with vulnerable people.

  • Finding Your Next Servant LeaderWorkshop (45 mins facilitated by Alec Jewell)

Ever wondered why your Conference is having such a hard time getting people to step up into leadership roles? In this workshop, we’ll walk through a simple methodology for servant leadership that will help roles feel less intimidating and help people feel comfortable saying yes when asked to step up

  • The Poor as Our Masters Retreat (1 hour facilitated by Adriana Howard)

Neighbors come to us because they lack a basic need, but as Vincentians it is important for us to acknowledge what they bring to us. To be a master is to be in charge of a group or organization. The neighbor is our master because the suffering Christ chooses to reside in our neighbor. It is with this knowledge that we serve our neighbor as master because through serving them we have another chance to serve Christ in his suffering.

  • The Miraculous Medal Retreat (1 hour facilitated by Chris Kelley)

“God wishes to charge you with a mission…” The opening words of the Virgin Mary to St. Catherine Laboure, a Daughter of Charity, who would go on to play a quiet yet important role in the start of the Society. We invite you to learn more about this amazing devotion and its promises, uniquely given to the Society, and see the ways you are being invited to live out the mission through this reflective experience.

  • The Alleviation of Misery Retreat (45 mins facilitated by Alec Jewell)

Our spiritual founder, Frederic Ozanam, often talked of the alleviation of misery, as opposed to poverty. Stemming from our core mission of personal growth in holiness, it stands to reason that our interactions with neighbors should extend well beyond transactional assistance. But how in the midst of service, where poverty is so tenacious, do we also alleviate misery? Well, book this retreat to find out more.
