The Oaks Academy aspires to be a thoroughly Christ-centered school. There is no higher qualification for teacher candidates than a substantial, evident Christian faith. Your answers in the following section will provide a starting point for future conversations about your faith.

Professional Qualifications:

In addition to being a committed Christian, qualified teacher candidates must possess the professional training, experience, and characteristics that qualify them to thrive in an excellent educational institution.

Please attach photocopies of all your post-secondary transcripts. Should you be offered a position, official copies of your transcripts must be provided to the school for inclusion in your personnel file.

The following section is intended both to communicate the immense value The Oaks Academy places on the various philosophical positions of teacher candidates and to guide further conversations. In one or two paragraphs, please fully address each of the questions below.

Why do you wish to teach in a classical school?
What are the main characteristics that distinguish a classical Christian school from a public school?
What do you consider to be the proper classroom atmosphere for learning?

Employment History/Personal References:
Please briefly outline your employment history for the past ten years beginning with your current or most recent employer and working backwards chronologically.
Have you ever worked under a different name for any of the employers you have listed? If so, what was the name or names?
Does your current employer know that you are exploring other employment options?
Have you already signed a contract for next year with any other educational institution?
Please list two references who are qualified to speak of your spiritual experience and Christian service and an additional two who are qualified to speak of your professional training and experience. Do not list family members or relatives. Please include a current phone number and email for each.
