    Thank you for celebrating National School Lunch Week with us! See how schools across Texas set sail on a nutritious adventure to help students find their treasure!

  • Aldine ISD

    Aldine ISD encouraged pirates to participate all week long with fun competitions like a coloring contest. Students showed off their creativity while enjoying a nutritious school lunch!

  • Alpine ISD

    Alpine ISD found their inner pirates with costumes and activities like playing "Message in a Bottle" and making pirate hats. The activities helped create and engaging atmosphere for serving nutritious school lunches! 

  • Austin ISD

    Austin ISD included nutritious pirate-themed menu items in their National School Lunch Week celebrations. Lunch crews also joined in with matching T-shirts!

  • Bryan ISD

    Bryan ISD celebrated in style with pirate-themed decorations and adventurous lunch menu names. They even served bananas fit for a pirate crew!

  • Channelview ISD

    Channelview ISD used costumes and participation charts to encourage students to join in National School Lunch Week celebrations. They also served flavorful items like vegetable fried rice and wings!

  • Coppell ISD

    Coppell ISD spread the National School Lunch Week spirit by serving their pirates nutritious lunches! Students enjoyed entrees like plant-based spaghetti tacos and cannoball subs!

  • Corpus Christi ISD

    Corpus Christi ISD celebrated National School Lunch Week with nutritious lunches and decorations fit for all their mateys. Staff encouraged participation by finding their own inner pirates!

  • Dickinson ISD

    Dickinson ISD held a "Message in a Bottle" art project at their elementary and middle schools that allowed students to spread positive messages and showcase their favorite foods. The artwork was displayed across cafeterias for all the pirates to see as they enjoyed a nutritious school lunch!

  • Frisco ISD

    Frisco ISD used homemade treasure maps and pirate decorations to encourage their students to join the National School Lunch Week adventure. A student participating in the Texas Department of Agriculture student-engagement initiative Health Ambassadors for a Ready Texas (HART) held a taste testing event to boost program awareness and participation!

  • Graham ISD

    Graham ISD had a Jolly Roger time celebrating National School Lunch Week! They used TDA's participation chart to encourage students to join the adventures!

  • Katy ISD

    Katy ISD celebrated National School Lunch Week with pirate-themed decorations and fresh, local menu items. They also hosted a luncheon with district board members and leadership!

  • La Villa ISD

    La Villa ISD gave students the opportunity to taste test "Captain's Chicken Apple Bounty" and they really enjoyed the combination of flavors! Staff also embraced their inner pirates!

  • Lake Dallas ISD

    Lake Dallas ISD held a taste testing event to let their pirates try "Captain's Chicken Apple Bounty". The salad exceeded expectations and students enjoyed the combination of savory chicken and sweet, crunchy apples! 

  • Magnolia ISD

    Magnolia ISD used prizes, nutrition education, themed menus, and morning announcements to spread National School Lunch Week awareness and encourage participation. Schools that increased lunch particiaption were rewarded with a sweet treat!

  • Pearland ISD

    Pearland ISD joined the National School Lunch Week adventures with local-foods education and Pearland pirates enjoyed nutritious, local items all week long!

  • Sinton ISD

    Sinton ISD served their pirates delicious items like popcorn shrimp and local 'sea monster' green beans! Staff also participated in a can-decorating contest!

  • Southwest ISD

    Southwest ISD served their pirates new menu items all week long. Students were fueled for their adventures with nutritous lunches likes Pepperoni Calzones, Bone-In BBQ Wings, and Chicken Lo-Mein!

  • Whitesboro ISD

    Whitesboro ISD sailed into the pirate-theme for National School Lunch Week! They also served delicious school lunches that included their homegrown lettuce! 

  • YES Prep Public Schools

    YES Prep Public Schools celebrated National School Lunch Week with tasty food and pirate surprises. They also met their goal of increasing school lunch participation with an 18% increase among elementary schools and 3% increase overall!
