  • 2024 Nominations for AZWEC Board/Committees

    Nominations Due by 10th November 2024
  • The Board of AZWEC is seeking Nominations for open positions on the Board and Committees for the upcoming year.

    Board Members and Committee Members take up their positions on 1st December 2024 and serve for 1 year unless otherwise stated.

    As an AZWEC Member you are invited to nominate yourself or another Member for any of these positions. We encourage you to gain consent from anyone you nominate prior to nominating them.

    The schedule for the Nomination process is as follows:

    1.       A nominating form is sent out by 30th October, nominations due by 10th November.

    2.       Nominated candidates are emailed by 12th November with a request for a Bio, to be returned by 15th November.

    3.       Voting form is sent out by 17th November. Votes are due by 22nd November.

    4.       Nominees and Board are notified by 23rd November.

    Nominees take up their new positions on 1st December.

  • NOMINATIONS

    The following positions are open. Please read the Job Description/Skills Required carefully, and insert the name of your Nominee(s):

  • President Elect (Board position)

    Job Description:

    President Elect serves as the President when the President is absent or unable to conduct club business.  President Elect will serve on various committees as needed.  Will attend all meetings.  May be the year end awards chairman or may delegate this responsibility, coordinating the tabulation of the year end points and purchasing appropriate awards and overseeing the distribution of the year end awards at the last show or an award ceremony.  President Elect is a 2 year commitment, they will move into the office of President next year, and serve on the Board as Past President.

    Skills:

    Knowledge and appreciation of the World of Working Equitation. Interest in managing and growing the Club. Communication and people skills.

  • Secretary (Board position)

    Job Description:

    Secretary maintains the database of members.  Coordinates the website. Keeps minutes of meetings, sends out minutes for approval and archives the clubs records. Maintains communications with membership via e-mail and newsletter.  Secretary is very valuable in recruiting new members and contributing to the maintenance of the AZWEC social media.  

    Skills:

    Computer skills. Attention to detail. Organized. Knowledge of Club Rules and Regulations.

     

    NOTE: Our current Secretary, Robin Lindsay, has self-nominated to continue in the role for another year. However, other nominations will be accepted.

  • Marketing & Communictions Officer (Board position)

    Job Description:

    Manage Marketing & Communications Committees, comprising Webmaster, Social Media Officer, Newsletter Editor. Responsible for communications with both new and prospective members. Provide the Club with methods to market the Club and grow Membership and attendance at events.

    Skills:

    Marketing & Communications background/experience. Knowledge of modern marketing methods. Knowledge of Social Media. Ability to assess our market, and grow our membership. Able to plan and execute Marketing Campaigns.

  • Show Committee Member/Manager (Committee position)

    Job Description:

    Maintain Calendar of Shows. Liaise with Show Managers, helping them with questions on any rules, payments, etc. Help Show Managers pick available dates.

    Skills:

    Computer savvy. Communication skills. Knowledge of AZWEC and USAWE Show Rules and Regulations/Procedures.

  • Webmaster (Committee position)

    Job Description:

    Maintain and update Website. Liaise with Board, for additions, corrections and changes.

    Skills:

    Experience in maintaining websites. Understanding of websites. Communication skills.

  • Junior Committee Member (Committee position)

     

    Job Description:

    Maintain and grow our Youth membership. Liaise with Sales/marketing Officer to plan and execute events to attract Youth Members, and for our Youth members.

    Skills:

    Marketing skills. Knowledge of Youth Rules and Regulations in AZWEC and USWAWE. Empathy with Youth riders. Desire to expand, enhance and grow the Youth Working Equitation experience.

  • Education Committee Member/Manager (Committee position)

     

    Job Description:

    Create and maintain an Education Calendar of Events for Members. Set up Speakers from within or outside the Club to provide a variety of educational opportunities relating to Working Equitation or other equine topics.

     

    Skills:

    Good organizational and communications skills. Experience with Zoom, You Tube , Facebook Live, online tutorials, a bonus. Experience in organizing in person presentations required. Needs an understanding of requirements of Working Equitation.

     

     

  • Social Media Committee Member/Manager (Committee position)

    Job Description:

    Publicize shows and events via various Social Media platforms to help grow the Club and increase attendance at events. Liaise with Show Committee and Marketing & Communications Committee.

    Skills:

    Knowledge/experience using various Social Media platforms, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tik Tok, You Tube etc
