Purpose

This policy aims to protect contractors, employees and the organization from the risks associated with substance abuse, including impaired judgment, accidents, and decreased productivity.
Scope
This policy applies to all contractors or employees, and visitors of Crown TWIC Escort Services. It is applicable on all company premises and work areas, during work hours, and at any company-sponsored events.
Definitions
- Illegal Drugs: Substances that are prohibited by law or prescribed drugs that do not belong to the person in possession of said drug.
- Alcohol: Any beverage containing ethanol.
- Under the Influence: A state where an individual's performance or behavior is impaired due to substance abuse.
Prohibited Behaviors
- Use, possession, sale, or distribution of illegal drugs on company premises, company work areas or while conducting company business.
- Consumption of alcohol during work hours or at company events unless specifically authorized.
- Reporting to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Contractor/Employee Responsibilities
- Adhere to all aspects of this policy.
- Report any violations or suspected violations to the Site Lead or Crown TWIC management.
- Cooperate with any investigations related to substance misuse.
Testing
The company reserves the right to conduct drug and alcohol testing under circumstances such as reasonable suspicion of impairment, post-accident investigations, or as part of a return-to-duty process.
Consequences of Violation
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination. Specific consequences include:
- Immediate termination for possession of illegal substances.
- Termination for refusal to comply with testing procedures.
Confidentiality
All information related to substance abuse issues will be treated confidentially. Access to such information will be restricted to individuals who need it for decision-making purposes related to employment status or safety concerns.
Review and Amendments
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary in compliance with legal requirements and organizational needs.
Acknowledgment
Contractors/Employees must sign and acknowledge this form confirming they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this policy.
