Thank you for your interest in the Illuminate: Space program. This program connects art and science through space exploration. This program is funded by NASA's Universe of Learning.
This program is a collaborative partnership between the Pensacola MESS Hall and elementary art teachers. The MESS Hall will present an interactive show on the science of light and how it is used in space research. We will loan art teachers a set of hands-on activities on the science of light for additional exploration in their classrooms for a limited time after the show. We will then work with art teachers to provide inspiration on activities that students can complete that express concepts important in our exploration of the cosmos, from imagining extra-terrestrial life to converting data to drawings.
In April 2025 students' creations will be displayed at the MESS Hall as part of our Illuminate: Space immersive exhibit. Because of the in depth involvement of the art teachers, only highly motivated schools will be selected for this program.
