Application and Agreement
In 2023, The City of Ivins funded a Call for Art, and selected Artists whose images were professionally printed and vinyl-wrapped around selected utility boxes along the Ivins City Arts Corridor on Center Street in Ivins, Utah (see images below). Since then, the community has expressed interest in sponsoring the wrapping of other utility boxes, leading to the development of a process whereby applicants can self-fund and apply for artistic wrapping of other Ivins utility boxes.
Medical School Utility Box

All applicants must accept the terms, as set forth below, of this Applicant’s Agreement in order to be eligible for consideration for the Ivins City It's A Wrap. Your acceptance of the terms is effective by entering your signature and date in the spaces provided.
Terms and Conditions

Applicant, identified above, agrees to allow image of original painting or drawing to be displayed in a permanent manner on select utility boxes in the City of Ivins for an indefinite period of time.

Applicant certifies that the artwork submitted for the It's A Wrap program:
- is an original creation by the Artist
- is visually engaging and appropriate to the Ivins City environment and diverse culture
- exemplifies strong originality in design and content
- possesses relevance and connection with Ivins City's diverse area and community
- does not require the use of electricity, audio/visual technology, water or other resources
Applicant is responsible for:
- submitting a high quality image of an original two dimensional painting or drawing, with consideration given for the shape and size of utility box
- contracting and paying for the design and printing of the digital image provided by Artist
- contracting and paying for the wrapping installation of the digital image on the utility boxes
- securing the artwork at the selected site
- paying stipend to artist (unless applicant/artist are one and the same)
- maintaining property insurance for the actual replacement value on the artwork in the event of vandalism, theft or other accidental damage. Such insurance shall be the sole remedy for such damages, Artist will not be entitled to any other compensation/remedy, and Ivins shall not be liable for monetary or other damages
Ivins City reserves the right to:
- make all installment/placement decisions;
- oversee all activities regarding the art installation
- the submitted design must be approved by the Ivins City Council
Applicant acknowledges that if selected, the art installation will constitute public art promoted by Ivins City as government speech. Ivins City shall be deemed the owner of the art installation and, at its sole discretion, may remove it or paintover it at any time.

Applicant explicitly gives permission for Ivins City and its Arts Commission to use Artist’s name, and to photograph Artist and/or the displayed artwork, and publish them on the City’s and/or the Arts Commission’s websites, in community informational materials or other media to promote Living Artfully in Ivins.

Applicant understands that Ivins City and its Arts Commission will take reasonable care to protect the artwork while in its custody, but Artist submits it at his/her/their own risk.
