CWRU/Cleveland Play House MFA Auditions - Chicago
  • CWRU/Cleveland Play House MFA Auditions

    February 8th & 9th, 2025 - San Francisco
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Auditions will be held at ACT 30 Grant Avenue Studio Space
    30 Grant Ave. 8th Floor
    San Francisco, CA 94108

    • Please bring one copy of your photo and resume to the audition.
    • We request both a contemporary and classical monologue (Shakespearean verse).
    • It is always recommended that you have more material in case we want to see another piece.
    • We also may ask you to sing unaccompanied, so please have 16 bars of a song you feel gives us a good sense of your range. We are not a musical theatre program but it’s an opportunity to see your skills in another area.
    • Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your audition and although we do our best to keep on schedule, there can be wait time so be careful not to have too narrow a window of opportunity.

As noted on our site, if you are participating in the URTA National Unified Auditions, we will NOT be able to schedule you a private audition until after we have seen your work during
the URTA process. We will schedule callbacks with selected URTA candidates after the URTA preliminary auditions.

You will be auditioning for a panel which will include Don Carrier, The MFA Program Director, and representatives from the faculty, student body and/or Cleveland Play House.

If you are running late on the day of your audition, please TEXT 213-220-7724 with your name and ETA. Because we will be engaged in auditions, it might not be possible to respond immediately, but at least we will be aware of your situation.

    End of Day Callbacks

Callbacks will take place on the same day as your scheduled audition.

You will be informed by 3:00 pm the day of your audition whether we need to see you again in the afternoon for callbacks. If contacted, you will be asked to return at 4:00 pm PT.

If you do not receive a callback, this indicates that you are no longer being considered for admission this intake.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
