2025 Surrey Jazz Nights Call for Musicians

Surrey Jazz Nights Junior Series:

This series is meant for high school musicians wanting to gain valuable performance experience in a supportive environment. The number of musicians in your group can be anywhere between a duo to quintet (two to five musicians), and from any style/genre of music. Including but not limited to jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.

Performances will take place at Blenz Coffee in Sullivan Heights (14330 64 Ave Unit #108, Surrey, BC V3W 1Z1) from 6:30-7:30pm. Groups will perform two 25 minute sets with a 10 minute break in between.

Surrey Jazz Nights Emerging Artists Series:

This series is meant for emerging artists between the ages of 18 to 30. Groups can be anywhere between a trio to a-quintet (3-5 musicians), and from any style of music, including but not limited to jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.

Performances will take place at Blenz Coffee in Sullivan Heights (14330 64 Ave Unit #108, Surrey) from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Groups will perform two 25 minute sets with a 10 minute break in between.

For this application we have defined an emerging artist as someone who is:
- A current or recent graduate from a post-secondary institution studying music
- OR has been working on their music skills outside of a music institution, and has been pursuing music as a career for around 2 to 8 years
- Has a minimum of 2 years of performance and/or gigging experience

Duets at Surrey Jazz Nights:

This series is meant for emerging artists between the ages of 16 to 30. Duos are welcome to play any style of music, including but not limited to jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.

Performances will take place at Finest Cup Coffee (8645 160 St #109, Surrey) on Saturdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Groups will have the choice to perform a one hour set or two 25 minute sets with a 10 minute break in between.

For this application we have defined an emerging artists as someone who is:
- A current or recent graduate from a post-secondary institution studying music
- OR has been working on their music skills outside of a music institution, and has been pursuing music as a career for around 2 to 8 years
- Has a minimum of 2 years of performance and/or gigging experience
