Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club College Scholarship Application
  • Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club College Scholarship Application

  • The Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club has two scholarships available this year.  Each scholarship will be awarded to an area high school senior graduating in the current school year.  Eligible applicants must have resided in the Cary-Apex area for at least two years.

The first scholarship is the James Atkins Memorial Scholarship which consists of an award of $2,000 for a full-time student matriculating at an accredited four year college or university - renewable for three additional years depending upon satisfactory academic progress and availability of funds.  Thus, the recipient has the potential to receive $8,000 in scholarship funds over the course of a four year college career.  Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need, community service, and leadership potential.

The second scholarship is the ChiJen Women in STEM scholarship, which consists of a one time award of $2,000 to be awarded to a female student going into a STEM field of study.  Selection for that scholarship will be based on the same criteria used for the James Atkins scholarship.  A student applying for both scholarships need only apply once using this form.

All applications and supporting materials must be submitted no later than Monday, February 23, 2026.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.  The top applicants for the James Atkins scholarship may be scheduled for a personal interview to be held on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026.  Applicants for the ChiJen scholarship may be interviewed that same day or on a later date to be determined.  All applicants will be notified no later than May 2026 of the Scholarship Committee's decision.

Any questions about the scholarship or the process should be directed to the Scholarship Committee chair, Leslie Davis, either by email (lhdavis888@gmail.com) or by phone (919-791-5447).
