  • Thank you for your interest in performing at the inaugural North West Big Band Comeptition taking place in November 2025. This exciting new event will bring together the finest big bands, showcasing a vibrant mix of swing, jazz and modern big band arrangements for an unforgettable celebration of music and community.

    If your band is passionate about delivering high-energy performances and you're eager to perform in front of a live audience, this is the event for you.

    Applications are welcome from both well-established bands and emerging ensembles looking to make their mark.

     

    Deadline for applications is Friday 31 January 2025.

  • As part of your performance, you are required to perform a set piece for both Open and Youth sections. Previews of the set pieces are available below.

    Please note: the set pieces are not compulsory for Juniors.

  • The arrangement for the piece will be sent out once the entry fees have been paid.

    Please do not share the PDFs once you receive them. These charts are exclusive to North West Big Band Competition 2025.

  • Please tell us about you

  • If your entry is successful we will send you an official invite along with a request for the payment of £70 to cover the entry fee. Following this, will be technical specifications, marking criteria and the list of your pieces including the one set piece you selected above (if applicable). Performance sets should be no longer than 20 minutes. 

    You will also be asked to list all soloists featured in the pieces for judges awards.
