Eligibility
Open to all amateur and professional cooks.
Participants must register in advance and pay any applicable entry fees.
Submission
Each participant must submit a minimum of 8 quarts of chili for judging. Each participant must provide their own cooking equipment, utensils, and serving containers.
Ingredients
All chili must be made from scratch. Pre-packaged chili mixes are not allowed. Participants may use any ingredients they choose, but must disclose all ingredients for allergy purposes.
Categories
This will be an "Anything Goes" chili competition, allowing participants the freedom to create their chili using any ingredients and techniques they choose. We encourage culinary creativity and innovation, so feel free to experiment and showcase your unique flavor profiles!
Awards
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall. This contest will be judged on, Presentation, Smell, Flavor, Texture, Overall Impression. This event will be judged by the Simpson family.
Additional awards will be given for People's Choice. Each contestant will be given a ballot box where they will take donations for Sumter United Ministries, the person with the highest amount will win Peoples Choice Award.
Conduct
Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Any form of harassment or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.
Liability
Participants enter at their own risk. The event organizers are not responsible for any injuries or damages that occur during the event.
