2024-25 VA Scholastic & College Championships

Sat. & Sun., March 8-9, 2025, with Blitz on Friday evening March 7th
Players, Parents, Coaches: The Virginia Chess Federation is extermely pleased to host the 2024-25 State Scholastic Chess Championships to be held at Monticello High School in Charlottesville, VA. The tournament is a 5-round event. This is an "in-person" (over-the-board) tournament. Virginia Residency is required, but there are exceptions (see www.vachess.org).

This is a US CHESS RATED TOURNAMENT.

Entry Fee for the Main Tournament Entry Fee is $60 online
through February 28th; Blitz is $30

Entry increases to $80 for the Main Tournament on March 1st through Wednesday, March 5th; Blitz increases to $35.

Entry increases to $100 on Thursday, March 6th and at the Tournament; Blitz increases to $40.

Except for the College Section, there are NO MONETARY PRIZES for this tournament. Awards in all K3, K5, K8 and K12 sections are Trophies or Plaques presented on-site during the Awards Ceremony at the end of the tournament. We do not ship trophies to players/teams who depart early, so arrange to have someone pickup your trophy on your behalf if you must leave early.
