  • WHAT IS THIS...

    For decades, one of the most successful and popular Craneridge social events was the Gourmet Club. Several times a year, members of the Gourmet Club collaborated to plan and prepare a gourmet dinner. Club members were divided into rotating groups of eight. Each individual or couple was assigned a dish to prepare, and one member or couple volunteered to host. On the designated night, every group sat down together at their host's home in Craneridge to enjoy their unique collaborative culinary adventure! 

    The Craneridge Neighborhood Engagement Committee (NEC) is interested in reviving this endearing tradition. To start, we are going to plan just one dinner -- for Saturday, November 16th. Please complete the form below to let us know your level of interest. Thank you!

    This Event is open to Craneridge (Adult) Residents and their (Adult) Guests.

  • HERE'S HOW IT WORKS...

    • Dinner-Groups are arranged as sets of eight people -- four (4) pairs of 2-people.
      • We are able to accommodate either couples or singles.
      • Currently we have a few slots available to be filled.
    • Indicate (on this Form) your interest level of participation.
      • If you 'are' interested in participating... or "not", so indicate on this Form... and fill out the additional information.
    • If, additionally, you are willing to be a 'Host' for the Craneridge Dinner Nite at your home (see Details below)... let us know on the Form below.
    • The designated Hosts and the NEC-Committee will get together to determine the overall 'Dinner Menu' for all Groups participating in the 'Dinner' experience.
      • The selected Recipes will be of the delicious-different-fun (and adventuresome) variety -- and will be straightforward to prepare.
      • The Evening is intended to be 'Craneridge Casual'.
    • The 'Dinner Menu' Recipes are then distributed to each of the participants in the repective Groups.
      • Each respective 2-Person-pairing in the Group is assigned a portion of the Meal-Menu (Appetizer, Entree, Sides, Desserts, or Beverages) by their respective Home-Hosts):
        • The Host-twosome is typically responsible for the 'Entree' and Beverages (Wines, Non-Alcoholic Beverages, etc.)
        • The Recipes for all courses of the meal will be distributed to each of the participants (well in advance of the Evening) -- with a notation of each twosome-pair's assigned meal-course recipe.
        • Each twosome is responsible for procuring the respective ingredients for their particular menu-segment... for 'preparing it' (as best they can...)... and for 'serving it' during the Meal evening.
          • Any 'last touch' preparations of a meal-course can be done on-site at the Host's home.
        • Each twosome is responsible for providing "the dollar-amount they spent" on acquiring the ingredients for their specific item(s); receipts should be retained so that the cost of the meal can be equally shared as per below.
    • During the Evening of the Event:
      • The respective Group-Twosomes gather at Host's Home.
      • The various courses of the Dinner are prepared-and-served -- in turn, by each of the respective Twosomes.
      • Everyone has a Great Time... getting to know each other more... and savoring some delicious food-and-drink.
      • At the conclusion of the evening, each of the participant Twosomes submits their respective 'expenditures'... the "Total Spent" overall by the Group is determined... and everthing is 'reconcilied and settled up'... with each participant Twosome in the Group having to split the cost for their-fair-share.

    In essence, you get a Great Experience, a Great Meal, and Get-to-Know-Better some more of your Craneridge Neighors... all for a minimal expenditure.  What a Deal.
