About the opportunity
The RightsCon team is looking for volunteers to support the 13th iteration of our summit, RightsCon 2025 (February 24-27, Taipei and online)! If you’re interested in human rights and technology, and available to join us in person in Taipei, this is your opportunity to contribute to – and connect with – a growing global community.
Volunteering is an excellent way to gain event experience, build professional connections, boost your resume, and learn about pressing digital rights issues. As an official RightsCon volunteer, you’ll gain access to all sessions outside of your shifts using your complimentary admission ticket, receive a RightsCon T-shirt and water bottle, as well as lunch and coffee through the summit.
Overview and volunteer responsibilities
Each year, our volunteers play a critical role in making RightsCon happen. Your Volunteer Team Lead will work with you to assign shifts, answer any questions you may have, and find roles that you are excited about and confident to take on, including potentially:
- Summit set-up and tear down;
- Room and hallway management (Q&A help, wayfinding, ushering);
- Customer service information;
- Event logistics support (check-in desks, info desk);
- Backstage operations (stage management team, speaker escort).
While we would love to accommodate all volunteers from around the world, we unfortunately are unable to provide accommodation or travel stipends to Taipei, Taiwan.
The volunteer application window will close on January 3, 2025. All applicants will receive an email notifying you of next steps, including dates of the virtual volunteer training, by the end of January. For more information on volunteer responsibilities or our application process, please contact rightscon@accessnow.org.
