Danny Dollar - Lemonade Escapade

Description: Danny Dollar Academy is a reading and financial literacy program designed to educate young students about money management, entrepreneurship and economics. The program is named after the character, Danny Dollar, the protagonist of a children's book series by Ty Allan Jackson. The Academy uses interactive lessons and activities to teach kids important financial concepts in a fun and engaging way, aiming to empower them with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.

This is a 5 hour (approximately) online, on-demand, training for teachers to learn how to use Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade with their 3rd-5th students with an emphasis on ELA. While completion of this course is not necessary to implement the program in a classroom, it does show educators how to teach the associated lesson plans. 

Danny Dollar is a kid with a plan. He is out to become a millionaire, and nobody can stop him! Eleven-year-old Danny is a little kid with big dreams. He is on his way to financial fortune and fame, but blocking the road to success are Pablo and his crew, and what they have planned for him will embarrass him in front of the whole city. Will the local bullies get the best of Danny or will he have the guts to show everyone why he is “Dan, the Man with the Plan”? Throughout Danny’s adventures, he teaches readers about finance, banking, investing and entrepreneurship in a fun and relatable way.

Before starting the course, please ensure you have a copy of Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire Lemonade Escapade.

If you teach 3rd to 5th grade students in the Jackson Public School District or at a school in Harrison, Hancock, or Jackson counties, the MS Council on Economic Education will provide you with a FREE copy of the book. Simply register for the course, and you will receive your copy within 14 days.

For all other teachers, please purchase your copy of the book before the course begins. It is available in paperback on Amazon. You can find it here.

When: NOW! The workshop is on-demand so you may complete it all at one time or save your progress and return to it later.

What’s in it for me? Free curriculum and 0.5 CEU's (CEU’s will only be awarded for the first completion of the course). If you teach students in the Jackson Public School District or at a school in Harrison, Hancock, or Jackson counties, the MS Council on Economic Education will provide you with a classroom set of books for your students. You will have the opportunity to tell us how many books you need in the course evaluation.
