** PRO TIP ** I can not stress enough how important it is to have good sound quality on your recordings!! Please PLEASE invest the time to inspect and correct your submissions prior to sending them to us. Though we completely respect the artist's vision for the sound they wish to present, however, we strongly suggest that your audio entry be at least up to par with the standard competition within your release category and musical genre. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? Let me fully explain this so everyone will understand. The "Release Category" is your determined classification of the project you're submitting. Classification being whether the project will be considered an Album, EP, Single, or Mixtape. To further define those terms, a "Single" means the release of a single song (one track), usually done during the promotional phase before and during the release of an Album to advertise and promote the full release in order to drive up record sales. The term "EP" refers to a project release that falls short of the normally accepted length of an album. Usally a project that carries between four to six tracks would be considered an EP, but I beleive the textbook definition of an EP is a release under 30 minutes in length, regardless of the number of tracks. And anything over that is classified as an Album. The term "Mixtape" was made popular within the genre of Hip-Hop and today's definition of that phrase refers to a recording usually comprised of original lyrical content recorded over a popular instrumental that the artist does not own, resulting in a completely new revision of the original artist's song. Mixtapes are routinely given away for free as promotional material in order to showcase the artist's talent and avoid the legal litigation that would arise for selling and profitting off a piece of intellectual property that they did not own. You will have the option to choose the pricing of your release or whether or not you want to give your project away as a free download. If your release is to be considered a mixtape, we strongly suggest giving the project away free from charge, but ultimately, the final choice is yours to make. If you've acquired the proper licenses to release a remake or remix of someone else's songs, then by all means, classify it accordingly. BUT KNOW THIS... PLEASE HEAR ME WHEN I SAY THAT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OBTAINING A LEGAL LICENSE TO SELL A REVISION OF OTHER PERSON'S SONG IS RESTING SOLELY ON YOUR SHOULDERS. A-1 The Assas'n and any other member of The BHM Conglomerate will be considered faultless in the event that a release on our site from a partnership artist actracts ANY legal litigation whatsoever. Those burdons, both legal and financial, will completely fall upon the artist of the songs in question. Furthermore, said artist may also be responsible for any cost incurred by The BHM Conglomerate defending or otherwise handling allegations that arose from another artist's actions. The best thing to do to avoid any of that drama is to adhere to the rules and regulations of the recorded music society of America and DON'T attempt to sell a music selection without a proper license to do so.
Thank you for choosing The BHM Conglomerate as your platform for sharing your work.
We are excited to hear what you have in store for us.
