Procedures for Membership Nomination
1. A nominee proposed for membership in Rehoboth Beach Country Club must be nominated by one Member in good standing who has been a Member for at least one year and has been personally acquainted with the nominee for a minimum of one year.
  1. A Sponsor may not be related by blood or marriage to the proposed nominee.
  2. Children and Grandchildren (Legacy Memberships) of current Members in good standing, shall require a Sponsor.
2. The RBCC Sponsor shall assist the Nominee with obtaining the Proposal for Membership package.
  1. The Proposal for Membership Package includes Application, Introduction Letter, Letter of Support from club affiliation (if applicable), Sponsor Declaration, Background Consent, and a Membership Nomination Form.
3. The Sponsor is to fill out the Sponsor Declaration.
4. A prospective nominee that has moved to the area and may not be able to identify a Sponsor must follow these additional guidelines as listed in 4a and 4b.
  1. In such situations, a tour of the Club facility is required and the Membership Director and/or designee shall conduct an introductory meeting with the nominee.
  2. After the introductory meeting, the Membership Director or designee shall complete a declaration to be included in the Proposal for Membership.
  3. The Club will contact the nominee regarding next steps and provide the proposal for membership package.
5. The Proposal for Membership package shall be completed, and a $1,000 non-refundable application fee shall be submitted to the membership department.
  1. Legacy Members shall not be subject to the $1,000 application fee.
6. Upon receipt of all documentation and payment of the application fee, the membership department shall contact the Nominee to schedule an interview.
7. Upon completion of all documentation and the interview, the Proposal for Membership package will be presented to the Membership Committee for review and approval at the monthly meeting.
8. If approved by the Membership Committee and submitted as a recommendation to the Board of Directors, the Proposal for Membership package will be presented at that month’s Board meeting, Should the Board of Directors contingently approve the nominee’s application, the nominee will enter a 28-day posting period.
  1. Legacy Members shall not be subject to the 28-day posting period.
9. Once the application has received Board of Directors approval pending successful conclusion of the posting period, the membership department shall contact the nominee regarding next steps.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment for all members and their guests, RBCC requires that all prospective members and family members over 18 undergo a background check prior to final approval of their application.

By submitting your membership application, you are providing your consent for RBCC to conduct a comprehensive background check. This screening process is performed in partnership with IntelliCorp, a trusted third-party background screening service.

Once your application has been received, you will be contacted via email directly by IntelliCorp to complete the necessary steps for the background screening. Please ensure that you check your inbox and spam folders and respond to their request in a timely manner to avoid delays in the application process.

The background check will include, but may not be limited to, a review of criminal history and verification of identity. All information obtained through this process will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for the purpose of evaluating eligibility for membership at RBCC.
