    Please note this is for RENEWALS ONLY. Initial applications must be filled out at the Municipal Office to obtain your gym card. PLEASE NOTE: Gym cards are not updated immediately. Gym Cards are updated from 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). You will not lose days if you renew early - days will be added to your existing membership.

  • Staff will verify all gym renewal submissions. Providing false residency or discount information may result in termination of online registration privileges and/or suspension of gym access. If your residency or discount status has changed, please contact our office to update your account before renewing.

  • TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Please read the terms of the condition for the gym and sign below.

    • MEMBERSHIP ACCESS 

    • All members will be issued with their own Gym Access Card at a cost of $10.00, non-refundable.

      The Earlton Gym at the Recreation Centre is an unstaffed facility, as such, the building, including the gym facility (excluding change rooms/showers/ washrooms) is under video surveillance 24 hours a day.

      Please report all equipment malfunctions, personal injuries and specific concerns immediately to the Township of Armstrong at 705-563-2375.

      The lending of your card or taking non-members into the Earlton gym will result in a revocation of membership privileges.

      All members must swipe their own access card.

      All members must be 12 to 15 years old with an accompanying adult member, at least 18 years of age, or 16 years of age unaccompanied. Initial gym membership must be signed by both the parent/guardian (gym member), and the 12- to 15-year-old individual, recognizing the rules and regulations.

      Any misconduct, malicious acts and/or breaking of rules will result in a revocation of membership privileges for both the parent/guardian and the child. For greater clarity, the parent and the child will both lose their gym membership for child misconduct. Therefore, parent/guardian must ensure a responsible 18-year-old is accompanying their child to the gym.

       

      WIFI is available for Gym Members while in the gym. Please note the prohibited activities: Spamming and Invasion of Privacy of Others, Violating Intellectual Property Law, Transmitting Obscene or Indecent Speech or Materials, Transmitting Defamatory or Abusive Language, Hacking or Distribution of Internet Viruses, Worms, Trojan Horses, or Other Destructive Activities.

    • CONDUCT & BEHAVIOUR 

    • Management reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel a membership or request a member to leave the premises if the member does not behave in a responsible manner, is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol or does not adhere to the general conditions.

      No smoking or food is permitted in the facility.

    • CLOTHING ATTIRE 

    • Shirts must be worn at all times No outside footwear

      No open-toed shoes, boots, sandals.

      The Township of Armstrong will take no responsibility for lost or stolen property.

    • EQUIPMENT 

    • All equipment must be handled appropriately and returned to their original location after each use. Please do not drop the weights.
      Members may not "hold" equipment for friends. First come, first serve. Do not slide or lift equipment

      No personal equipment allowed.

      You must clean equipment before and after each use.

    • UNAVAILABILITY OF FACILITY OR SERVICE 

    • Facilities or services within the Earlton Recreation Centre may be unavailable at any particular time due to cleaning, maintenance, mechanical breakdown, fire, act of God, catastrophe or any other unforeseen reasons.

      The Township of Armstrong will not be held responsible or liable for such occurrences.

    • GENERAL 

    • Do not disrupt or interfere in another member's workout.
      Refrain from making phone calls in the Earlton Gym, leaving items in the way of another member or impeding the use of a piece of equipment in any way. Members

      MUST wipe down equipment before and after each use.
      (Disinfectant and paper towel is available)

    • CHARGES 

    • The Township of Armstrong reserves the right to increase prices during the annual budget process.

    • GYM OPERATIONS 

    • Member access is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week unless otherwise advised by the Township of Armstrong.

    • HEALTH AND SAFETY 

    • If you have the flu, a cold, or any other contagious illness, please do not use the gym. Using the gym with a contagious illness puts you and all other members at risk. Illness causes an individual's system to become weaker and the likelihood for injury increases significantly when training under these conditions. Furthermore, given the nature of physical training, the transmission of contagious diseases occurs quite readily.

    • REFUNDS 

    • One-year memberships may be cancelled only if more than nine months are remaining in the membership term. The refunded amount will be 50% of the yearly membership fee. If there are less than 9 months remaining in the membership term, the membership is non-refundable.


      Year-long memberships can be placed on hold due to medical reasons by written request. Requests must include a doctor’s note, member name, phone number, email address, start and end date of the hold. Hold requests are limited to one time per membership term (maximum 3 months). The Township of Armstrong may require a doctor’s note to reinstate the membership.


      In the event of a death of a membership holder, upon request by the executor of the member’s estate, the full remaining amount of their membership will be refunded on a pro-rated basis to the date on their death certificate.

    • DISCLAIMER 

    • 1. I agree to comply with all rules, conditions and directions
      stipulated in this Terms and Conditions document regarding the facility and its equipment use and personal behaviour of members whilst using the Gym.


      2.To the best of my knowledge, I believe that my state of
      health and physical condition are such that the proper use of the Gym facilities in accordance to the Terms and Conditions which apply thereto will not pose any risk to my health and wellbeing.


      3.I acknowledge and agree that my use of the facility, equipment or apparatus of the Gym will be undertaken at my own risk.

      4.Exercise is demanding and there are innate risks
      associated with an exercise program and the gym environment. Participating in exercise at the Earlton Gym may cause serious injury, paralysis or death. I participate in exercise at the Earlton Gym at my own risk. I release, indemnify and hold harmless the Township of Armstrong, its servants, agents and employees from and against all and any actions or claims which may be made by me or my property whether by negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever or any liability that results from the breach of an express or implied warranty that the Township of Armstrong will be rendered with responsible care or skill.

      5.In the event that I am injured or my property is damaged,
      I will bring no claim, legal or otherwise, against the Township of Armstrong in respect of that injury or damage.

      6. Personal information on this form is collected pursuant to
      the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001 c.25, as amended and will be used for the purpose of entering membership information into the Township of Armstrong registration system and for contact tracing in the event of an infectious disease.
