SCAG 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games
Freight Industry Forum - Session 3
You are invited to join SCAG’s upcoming Freight Industry Forum, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This meeting will be held in person at SCAG’s Los Angeles office and via Zoom for those requiring remote access.
As part of SCAG's work with the Games Mobility Executive (GME) partners—comprising LA28, the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Caltrans, and Metrolink—SCAG is leading the freight transportation demand management (TDM) workstream to support the region’s travel needs leading up to and throughout the LA28 Games. This effort includes identifying, testing, and implementing operational strategies to minimize disruptions to freight operations that support the games while maintaining supply chain fluidity across SCAG’s six-county region. SCAG is continuing this Freight Industry Forum to connect regional partners with industry stakeholders and to prepare for a successful LA28 Games.

About SCAG Freight Planning for the LA28 Games
-
This forum continues dialogue with freight industry representatives, the GME, and regional partners, providing SCAG with input and guidance on the work plan efforts.
- The SCAG Freight Industry Forum is an advisory and steering group to develop regional plans and strategies that consider and integrate freight industry perspectives, operational needs, and desired outcomes.
- Freight TDM planning for the LA28 Games involves development of a Freight TDM Implementation Plan to identify and pilot feasible and effective operational strategies (i.e., off-peak deliveries, micro-consolidation operations, among others) that can be scaled and deployed during the LA28 Games.
- Freight Forum discussions during this initial planning phase will focus on venue considerations, lessons learned and best practices, and continuous LA28 Games planning updates. As needs are identified and operational strategies are developed, freight industry representation can increase to support diverse freight markets and industry sectors across the region.
If you have not already, please register here. We look forward to your attendance and participation.
Sincerely,
