Light the Park- Christmas Tree Participation

Participation is free! Please just fill out the form so we will have your contact info and know who is participating!

Thank you so much for your interest in helping spread holiday cheer this season!  The City of Semmes has purchased 20 real Christmas Trees from Pathway Church for this project. Our hope is to get as many groups as possible and organizations to go out, pick a tree in the park and decorate it. The trees will be placed in the park soon after Thanksgiving. Watch for them to go up. It is free to participate in the light the park project!

All trees must have lights that work properly (led preferred) and a tree skirt. Decorations MUST be secured to prevent wind/ rain from removing them (we recommend using a thin wire). The trees can be decorated any way you like as long as you’re spreading holiday cheer! Get creative!

Please decorate all the trees as soon as possible and leave them up for the month.  Decorations should be removed before January 5th. Everything left behind will be thrown away after that date.

Be sure to include a small sign on the tree to let everyone know it is yours and to help with judging. No trees will be reserved. You must be there to decorate if a sign is placed on the tree.

The City's Public Works Department will run power to your tree. They will check for newly decorated trees every few days. Just decorate the tree and leave the lights easily accessible for power. 

This park is not on the Christmas Tour and Shop Hop this year so we do not plan to have judging for the trees. We will however post them to social media.
