McColl Center and curator, Meredith Connelly, invite artists to submit work for Sovereign: Honoring Bodily Autonomy, an interdisciplinary exhibition exploring bodily autonomy from diverse perspectives. Using mediums such as painting, sculpture, installation, and performance, the exhibition will address themes of self-determination, consent, personal agency, reproductive rights, healthcare access, and identity expression.
Additionally, the exhibition aims to address global issues related to bodily autonomy, including topics such as forced sterilization, gender-based violence, access to reproductive healthcare, and the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. We welcome submissions that provide diverse perspectives on these subjects, encouraging thoughtful dialogue and engagement.
Sovereign seeks to amplify the voices of artists offering a platform for perspectives often excluded from mainstream discussions about autonomy and identity.
- Artists are invited to submit up to 3 works of art for consideration in all mediums, including site-specific installation, performance, video
- Concept proposals for new works of art may also be submitted via a master PDF and must include concept sketches and a detailed description of the work
