La Fonda Foundation is an organization dedicated to supporting the upward mobility of hourly wage workers in New Mexico’s hospitality industry. La Fonda Foundation’s Hourly Employee Hardship Fund provides financial resources to hourly employees experiencing unexpected hardship or emergency circumstances. Financial support can range between $100-$3,000 based on need.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be an hourly wage worker in the hospitality industry employed in Santa Fe County, north to the Colorado border in New Mexico.
- Have been employed for at least 30 days with your current employer in hospitality and work at least an average of 12 hours per week.
- Are experiencing financial hardship because of an unexpected emergency, as defined below.
Examples of an emergency that results in a financial hardship include, but are not limited to:
Illness or injury
Natural Disaster (fire, flood, etc.)
Death of an immediate family member (burial and travel)
Domestic violence survivor assistance
Late payments, medical bills, house repairs, car repairs, home repairs, rental assistance, utilities, that are the result of unexpected situation or harship.
Other difficult situations that place a burden on maintaining basic needs
Application Process:
- Complete the form at https://form.jotform.com/243047092680153
- La Fonda Foundation reviews the application, and the applicant will receive a response acknowledging that it has been received within 72 hours.
- La Fonda Foundation aims to respond to applicants with approval or denial within one month of receiving the application.
- If the request is approved, the applicant will receive funds as soon as possible (less than two weeks from approval).
- If the request is denied, you will receive an email letting you know.

- All applications are treated as confidential.
- You may be contacted by La Fonda Foundation to provide additional information.
- Submission of an application is not a guarantee of funding.If financial support is given, you do not have to pay it back.
