STUDIO OPPORTUNITIES
The Artists in Residence program offers affordable private and/or shared studios to emerging and mid‐range local, national, and international artists. Artists in Residence become part of a vibrant community of artists participating in Arts Warehouse programming, allowing for exchange and collaborative relationships to develop within the artist community. Space is awarded to applicants that best demonstrate their commitment to their practice, to experimentation and innovation in their work, to seeking artistic & professional development, and to being a part of and contributing to a dynamic community of artists and creative thinkers. Resident Artist leases include private and/or shared studios as well as access to flexible shared working space. Artists selected for this program range from emerging to mid‐range, and work in all artistic disciplines and media; including but not limited to creative makers, fashion, drawing, painting, artisanal florist, sculpture, photography, film, new media, installation interdisciplinary expression etc.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
(Application must include ALL items)
- Resume or Curriculum vitae (“CV”) that provides an overview of experience and other qualifications.
- Letter of interest outlining specific interest in working at the Arts Warehouse, how participation will affect the artist’s practice.
- Artist Statement
- Career and business plan summary for your arts business including goals.
- Three letters of recommendation, personal and/or professional, that include name and email address or phone in case follow up is required. *a list of references will not be accepted.
- Documentation of recent work as described below.
STUDIO OPPORTUNITY DETAILS
- 176 to 528 approximant sq. ft. studios. Spaces are appointed by Arts Warehouse staff for selected Artists. We will consider your preference in our appointments.
- Studio rents are currently charged at $2.00 per square foot per month
- 24‐hour access to studios
- Wi‐Fi access
- Up to 26 artists working on‐site in various mediums
- Participation in First Friday Gallery walks sponsored by Downtown Development Authority. https://downtowndelraybeach.com/ArtWalk
- Access to shared work spaces
- One year leases with the prospect of renewable terms for a maximum of four years (all artists will be required to execute a lease for the space being provided and have reviews during residency and prior to renewal to determine continued eligbility) .

GLAZES, CLAY & KILN
- If you are mixing your own glazes; powders and/or other substances that may emit fumes (toxic or otherwise) must be mixed outside. All glazes and clay must be stored in the artist's leased studio, and not left near the kiln.
- Artist must work with each other to determine the firing schedule and the type of firing happening. i.e cone 10, bisque, glaze…
- Firing Schedule will be posted on Studio 5 door.
KILN OVERVIEW
- This is a shared Kiln, and artists must adhere to Kiln firing schedule
- Must remain clean inside and out at all times. Shelves must be free of debris; and you MUST use Kiln Wash, sand, and clean any residue left on shelves.
- Elements MUST be replaced when needed (AW staff will assist)
- Any issues with the kiln MUST be reported to AW staff immediately
- Artist MUST communicate with each other so there is no cross contamination of kiln and misfirings.
- Artist must know how to fire a kiln and be able to provide proof of kiln knowledge prior to signing a lease agreement.
- If you are interested in teaching classes, you will work AW staff to set up classes.
- The kiln will be loaded and unloaded by the studio artist who is firing.
Note: Any damage to the kiln due to negligence is the responsibility of the lease holders.
