Award Criteria and Eligibility
Each Nominee for the Excellence in Social Justice & Health Equity Award, given annually by the Eastern Nursing Research Society, must: be a member of ENRS who:
- Must be an ENRS member in good standing
- Must agree to attend the annual conference and award ceremony
Nominations are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Quality/scope of the program of research
- Breadth and depth of the overall research contribution
- Overall impact of the research on improving health outcomes, reducing health disparities (e.g., cultural, racial, ethnic, language, accessibility, gender, religion), and reducing barriers and health inequities.
Below are examples of research initiatives for this award:
- DEI Programming/training research
- Community outreach/fostering partnerships in participatory research.
- Diversity/Social justice initiatives
- Educational diversity research initiatives
- Recruitment/retention of diverse patients, students, faculty, employees
- Improve health outcomes /decrease health disparities
- Diverse research teams
- Innovative solutions and decisive actions that break new ground in the drive to champion diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.
- Plays a leading role in advancing diversity, inclusion, and sustainability in nursing research
Notification
Email notifications will go out in late February 2025. Winners will be formally recognized on Friday, April 4, 2025, during the Awards Luncheon of the 37th Annual Scientific Sessions.
