Tax Preparation Agreement and Due Diligence Acknowledgment
By signing below, I, the client, acknowledge and agree to the following:
Accuracy and Completeness: I certify that the information I have provided to my tax preparer and Total Tax & Finance Care is accurate, complete, and truthful to the best of my knowledge. I understand that it is my responsibility to provide all necessary documentation and information required for the preparation of my tax return.
Due Diligence: I understand that my tax preparer and Total Tax & Finance Care are required by law to exercise due diligence in preparing my tax return. This includes verifying the accuracy of the information provided and ensuring all claims for deductions, credits, and exemptions are properly supported by the documentation I supply.
Responsibility for Tax Return: While Total Tax & Finance Care will prepare my tax return based on the information I provide, I acknowledge that I am ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the return and any taxes, penalties, or interest arising from errors, omissions, or misrepresentations in the information I have provided.
Client Cooperation: I agree to cooperate fully with my Tax Preparer and Total tax & Finance Care in the event of any audits or inquiries from the IRS or other tax authorities. This includes providing additional information or documentation as needed for the resolution of any tax matters.
Consent to File: I authorize the tax preparer and Total Tax & Finance Care to electronically file my tax return with the IRS and any applicable state or local tax authorities. I understand that I must review the tax return for accuracy before signing it.
Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the tax preparer and Total Tax & Finance Care, their officers, employees, and agents from any liability, penalties, or costs arising from incorrect, incomplete, or false information provided by me.
Retention of Records: I acknowledge that Total Tax & Finance Care may retain copies of my tax return and related documents for their records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for a minimum of 3 years.
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined above. I further acknowledge that I have been informed of my rights and obligations regarding the tax preparation process.
