We will use a blind listening system when reviewing all applications. Here's how it works:

• You may submit up to three (3) .mp3 or .wav files for us to listen to.
• A member of the committee will be selected to be in charge of collecting votes and playing the music. The rest of the committee will not be given any info about your music, other than what it sounds like.
• We will listen to three total minutes of your music. 
• The committee members will each rate the music on a scale of 0 to 5. 
• In the interest of keeping the ranking process as objective as possible, committee members will abstain from voting if they recognize your music. 
• At the end of listening to your music, the committee members will submit their ratings to be averaged. Any applications that receive an average of 2.5 or higher will automatically be entered into the potential lineup pool.
• The committee will curate a final lineup of 30-40 bands from the potential lineup pool.

Below are the criteria we tell the committee to consider when ranking:

• Original compositions, tones, and energy
• Lyrical content 
• Likelihood of a committee member going to see this band on the basis of their music
• Likelihood of a committee member's friend going to see this band on the basis of their music

We know that these are not the only criteria that each committee member will individually take into account when creating a rating. To help create a more objective rating, the final number will be the average from 12-15 opinions, based on how many committee members are present for the listening. We will not have a listening with fewer than 12 people. 

Unfortunately we cannot offer applied bands a guarantee of monetary compensation for their performance at this event. We do look to offer each touring band a minimum of $50 to offset travel costs, however this is a DIY music festival and conference, and we cannot make this guarantee upfront.

We are proud to say that we have paid all touring bands over the past two years. 

There will be a lot of bands, college and independent radio reps, studio owners, instrument manufacturers, and other artists here on their own time and money for the weekend! It's going to be a great time. 

We will have an artist-exclusive hospitality house within walking distance of all the venues, with lunch, dinner, snacks, and beverages available. 

If you are accepted, let us know if you need housing and we will work to match you with a volunteer host. These spaces are limited, and function on a first come, first serve basis.

• EACH FILE MUST CONTAIN YOUR BAND'S NAME.
• YOU MAY SUBMIT UP TO 3 SONGS FOR REVIEW. 

This year we are offering artists the option to upload an Electronic Press Kit and/or logo. These will not be shown to the committee until after music is reviewed and the rating has been determined. 

EPKs may be a link or a .zip/pdf/docx upload. 

Logos MUST be a .png.
