Leadership Position: Mentor
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month
Position description: An AHEPPP mentor positively supports and encourages professional development and growth. Acting as a resource, they are a trusted advisor that a mentee is able to turn to with questions and concerns. Mentors are dedicated to the partnership and will experience personal and professional growth as they navigate the ins and outs of the AHEPPP organization, parent and family programming, and higher education.
Responsibilities:
- Attend Mentor training
- Participate in Mentor Cohort meetings
- Make monthly contact with your mentee. This can be in the form of phone/video calls, email, or other outreach
- Share articles, books, and other publications that may be of interest for your mentee
- Share relevant resources and conferences that may be of interest
- Meet up at the AHEPPP National Conference (if attending)
Desired Qualifications:
- Have at least 3+ years of experience in the field of Parent/Family relations
- Mentee with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in an AHEPPP mentee/mentor relationship or served on an AHEPPP committee can opt-in to be an AHEPPP mentor
- Passion for professional development and family relations
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
