Leadership Position: Mentor
Length of Term: January 2025 - December 2025
Time Committment: 2 hours per month
Position description: An AHEPPP mentor positively supports and encourages professional development and growth. Acting as a resource, they are a trusted advisor that a mentee is able to turn to with questions and concerns. Mentors are dedicated to the partnership and will experience personal and professional growth as they navigate the ins and outs of the AHEPPP organization, parent and family programming, and higher education.
Responsibilities:
- Attend Mentor training held at the beginning of each cycle
- Participate in Quarterly Mentor Cohort meetings
- Maintain a monthly (minimum) connection with your mentee in the form of a phone call, email, or other mode of outreach
- Share articles, resources and conferences that may be of interest for your mentee and mentor cohort
Desired Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience in the field of parent/family relations
- Ability to meet regularly with assigned mentee and Mentor Cohort
- Passion for professional development and family relations
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
