Leadership Position: Online Community Chair
Length of Term: January 2025 - December 2025
Time Committment: 2-4 hours per month
Position description: The Online Community Chair provides leadership and strategic direction for the Online Community. The Chair ensures the platform’s success from start to finish by maintaining that all aspects align with AHEPPP's mission, vision, and values as the premier association for family engagement at the collegiate level.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to Board of Directors Membership Liaisons
- Serve as the primary role on the Online Community team, which includes the AHEPPP Executive Director and Board Liaisons and reports directly to the AHEPPP Board of Directors.
- Partner with the Executive Director and Board Liaisons to establish the program’s topics, concepts, and design, including the technical, operational, and digital footprint for the Online Community.
- In collaboration with the Liaisons, create a plan to fully utilize the Online Community to support members for maximized engagement and participation actively.
- Work with the Executive Director and Communications Chair to develop a communications plan and develop materials as needed.
- In collaboration with the Liaisons, prepare and submit a final report (executive summary) as directed to document decisions, activities, results of new programs, and recommendations of importance to the incoming Chair, Liaisons, and the Board of Directors.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current member of the association with at least two years of experience in parent/family engagement
- Strong organizational skills
- Relational, collaborative, and responsive
- Ability to meet regularly with Board Liaisons and Membership Committee
