Memorial Scholarship

Margaret Thornton taught English at Wynford High School for over 20 years, and she has continued to work with Wynford students preparing for college for over 35 years. In addition to her love for Wynford, Mrs. Thornton values creative thinking and work ethic. To honor Mrs. Thornton's service, former students have established this award.

The scholarship amount is $1,000.

Eligibilty

Applicant must be a Wynford senior who will enter college in the fall of 2026.
Applicant must demonstrate academic promise and good character.
A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
Applicant must demonstrate both creativity and work ethic. While preference may be given to qualified applicants intending to major in English, creative writing, or English education, creativity is not limited to a specific major. Creative, hard-working students are encouraged to apply regardless of major.
Applicants must submit all parts of the application by Mar. 1. Please do not submit any additional materials.
