Join Empower House staff to create signs and posters for the Restorative Justice Walk + Rally on Sunday. Bring your posters or cardboard pieces to get creative!

Peace Walk + Rally (Registration encouraged but not required.)

Meet at 801 N. Olive Street 2pm-5pm to come together in solidarity for awareness and support of Restorative Justice! After the rally connect with other community members as the DJ spins justice tunes!

Workshop- Restorative Justice: A Relational Approach to Youth, Crime, and Building Community - Dr. Robert Rico-a presentation that will introduce the audience to restorative justice (RJ) concepts, principles, and values. They will have a basic understanding of basic methods and potential uses of restorative justice processes for addressing youth crime. They will gain familiarity with an RJ approach to inclusively identify and repair harm to victims and community members. Participants will have an appreciation of how RJ practices can help build relationships and raise an understanding of others.

Healing Space - Restoring Mind-Body connection in Nature Yoga in the Park - Bianca Flores-an opportunity to re-connect with ourselves and nature with deep breathing, stretching, and relaxation from the everyday hustle.

Healing Space - Return to the Flow - Deanna S.-a guided meditation that inspires participants to use their senses to release worries and anxiety and return to ease.

Workshop - Intro to Restorative Justice Deanna S.-In person-Restorative Justice has historically been used to repair offenses and hold harm doers accountable for actions differently than the punitive punishment of the criminal legal system. In this workshop participants will learn some of the history of restorative justice and the mindsets of restorative philosophy.

Workshop- Transforming Pain to Power: Writing as a Life-Line-Gabriela L.-In my work with The Charles Roundtree Bloom project we often discuss how letter writing is integral to keeping our relationship with incarcerated loved ones. Letter writing is powerful and can help us process our feelings, complex relationships, most importantly they can serve a step towards closure. I invite you to join me in discussing the significance of apologies when it comes to restoring relationships and what it means to turn our pain into power.

Workshop-Embracing the Core: Transforming Communities with the 7 Core Beliefs of Restorative Practices - Donna Costa and Holly Pompa-In this workshop, participants will explore the heart of Restorative Practices by engaging with the 7 core beliefs that ground this approach. These beliefs remind us of the goodness, wisdom, and connection we all carry within, encouraging us to nurture positive relationships, honor each person's unique gifts, and tap into the strength of our communities for real change. Through hands-on experiences in circles, participants will create a space for empathy, community, and mutual support, practicing authentic listening, open sharing, and working together to address challenges in a meaningful way.

Healing Space - Energizing the Movement- Sound Healing Power UP Movement Session, Gera Q-Stress Relief Movement & Native Sound Healing. Regenerate Remember and Uplift. Light moves, guided relaxation, accompanied by percussion, flute, and soothing sounds. Inviting community, educators, facilitators, caregivers, peacemakers, and beauty generators. With Gera Marin, Yolpaki Coaching, and East Side Family Coalition. We will have mats and eyecovers. Feel free to bring a blanket, mat, and eye cover. We will also have extras.

Workshop - In Principled Struggle - Bianca P.-Principled Struggle is the practice of addressing conflict and challenges with honesty, accountability, and love, while staying committed to collective growth and liberation. In this workshop, we’ll explore how this concept can guide our work for justice, drawing on the insights of Adrienne Maree Brown, Mariame Kaba, and Angela Davis. Participants will engage in reflective discussions and a restorative circle activity to practice navigating difficult conversations, embracing accountability, and fostering mutual care. Together, we’ll build skills to uphold the values of principled struggle and create pathways toward shared liberation.

Healing Justice Film Screening & Panel-Healing Justice, explores the causes and consequences of the current North American justice system and its effect on marginalized communities. The film walks back through the history of violence that has led to our current system, bringing into focus the histories of trauma—on a personal, interpersonal, community, and generational level.This powerful documentary addresses the school-to-prison pipeline, the need for comprehensive criminal justice reform, and the importance of healing and restorative practices.
