The objective of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau® Foundation $1,500 merit scholarship program is to provide scholarships to college students who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional scholastic ability.
How to Apply:
The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Foundation has transitioned to an online application process. Applications can either be completed using this form or the fillable Word doc format (download, complete, and return) available at https://www.winnebagoboonefarmbureau.org/scholarships.html. ALL required attachments, except letters of recommendation, must be submitted at the same time your application is submitted. DO NOT send materials separately.
Your complete application, including all attachments, can be submitted electronically or be sent via email to wbfbmanager@winnebagoboonefarmbureau.org with the name of the scholarship in the subject line of your email. Deadline for submitting your application is February 1st. Letters of recommendation must be completed online or sent by email or mail and postmarked no later than February 1st. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Your application will be reviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee. Selection will be based on exceptional scholastic ability.
In addition to eligibility guidelines, the following will be considered in selecting recipients:
- Academic (performance and honors, class rank, ACT or SAT score)
- Demonstrates interest in agriculture and agribusiness.
- Character and personality (maturity, industriousness and motivation, intellectual interest, moral character, demonstrated leadership)
Scholarship funds will be presented to recipients at the June Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Foundation Board Meeting. (Alternate arrangements will be made for those that are unable to attend.) All scholarship funds will be made payable to the designated institution. Funds may be applied by the institution for tuition, room/board, and books. Scholarship recipients are not restricted from pursuing and accepting other forms of financial aid, assistantship, or tuition waivers.
Applicants will be notified by email of any scholarship award or denial on or before April 21, 2025.
