Outdoor Painters of Minnesota presents:
Workshop with Ylli Haruni
Saturday, November 23, 2024
• 10:00am Auditorium presentation followed by BYO sack lunch in adjoining classroom
• Afternoon paintout in the wildlife refuge or inside the visitor center
• The visitor center closes at 4:00pm.
Born in Albania, Ylli Haruni graduated from the prestigious Academy of Arts in Tirana in 1976. He went on to achieve national recognition and acclaim with numerous paintings featured in the permanent collection of the Albanian National Art Gallery and Museum. National honors continued to be bestowed upon Haruni in the following decade as the Albanian National Assembly awarded him with the Medal Naim Frasheri in 1985 Scenographer) and 1989 (Artist). In 1991, Haruni moved to Greece, where he continued to hone his impressionist skills before emigrating to the United States in 1994. He teaches plein air and alla prima oil painting techniques at F.O.K. Artists (formerly ACVR Warehouse) on Harriet Island across from downtown Saint Paul, where he has a studio. His award winning paintings are in collections around the world.
The workshop presentation will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, November 23 in the auditorium. Afterwards we will have BYO sack lunches in the adjoining classroom before deploying to paint.
Our afternoon paint-out (or paint-in) may be outside on the bluff overlooking the Minnesota River or down along the trail, or painters may set up indoors along the windows overlooking the bird feeder and river below.
This workshop is included with annual membership in Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. By agreement with U.S. Fish & Wildlife, the presentation is open to the public. Donations to OPM, a 501c3 nonprofit, are encouraged. Nonmembers are asked to help support our educational programs by making a suggested $25 donation using this form or on OPM's donation web page HERE.
REFUND POLICY: If you must cancel your registration for a paid activity before the cancellation deadline, OPM will refund your payment minus the PayPal transaction fee. If you cancel after the cancellation deadline, your payment is nonrefundable and may be considered a tax deductible donation to OPM, a 501c3 charitable nonprofit.
